Among the programmes celebrating the centenary of the BBC, surely none will have a more distinctive flavour than this parody documentary from Harry Enfield (right) and Paul Whitehouse.

Perfectly aping the idiosyncratic style of lauded documentarian Adam Curtis, it marries portentous, cryptic commentary with a bewildering stream of clips, some of them drawn from genuine archive footage, others carefully honed in a comical vintage style. The relentless bombardment of images is almost exhausting, but there are strokes of comic genius here from Enfield and Whitehouse, who know just how far they can go and still get away with it.
