THE Scottish FA have adopted a mantra of ‘minimum interferen­ce, maximum benefit’ but the technology could scarcely have been more invasive at Tynecastle.

It took a delay of several minutes before referee Nick Walsh was invited to approach the monitor (insets far left and left) and award Hearts’ first penalty.

There was also a long pause to proceeding­s as video assistant Steven McLean viewed footage of the execution of Hearts’ second penalty before ordering a retake for encroachme­nt.

In between, Celtic were denied a handball penalty claim (below left) — to the disbelief of manager Ange Postecoglo­u (main) — and had an Anthony Ralston goal chopped off (below) without the referee reviewing pictures.
