EAT TO BEAT SKIN ISSUES

-

Fuelling your body with the right foods can improve sensitive skin. Try these tips from food specialist Louise Baker*.

✢ EAT GOOD FATS Fatty fish, such as salmon and mackerel, are high in omega-3 fatty acids to keep skin supple and help the body fight inflammation, as well as vitamin E – an important antioxidant for skin. Avocado and nuts also provide healthy fats.

✢ GET THE RIGHT NUTRIENTS Meat, shellfish, chickpeas, lentils, nuts and pulses, eggs and dairy are all great sources of zinc. Eating an array of fresh fruit and vegetables – especially the dark, leafy type – will provide vitamins A, C and E for skin health.

✢ AVOID HIGHLY PROCESSED FOODS Salty, sugary and fatty foods will exacerbate skin issues. Stick to a varied diet, with clean, unprocessed ingredients to see a difference.
