Preventing a plateau
✢ Keep challenging yourself
As soon as a session feels too easy, ramp up the hill incline or speed. Do the same with your exercises: add reps, weights or resistance bands, or increase the duration.
✢ Switch up your activity
If you’re spending too much time on the bike, ditch it for the cross trainer; if you’re not feeling the effects of your breaststroke, switch to crawl. Your fitness levels and muscles will reap the rewards.
✢ Stay active on rest days
Opt to take the stairs daily and increase your walking pace even if you’re out shopping and running errands. Every little helps.
