Vibrant vases

An old glass jar becomes a stylish vase when it’s covered with colorful stripes. It’s the perfect last-minute hostess gift—just pop in a bloom or two from your yard or a supermarket bouquet. TO DO: Glue one end of a long length of pink yarn to the bottom of the jar, then start tightly wrapping the yarn around, covering the bottom fourth of the jar. Glue the other end of the yarn to the jar. Repeat with blue and pink yarn until the vase is covered. To finish, fill the vase halfway with water and add flowers.
