Easy trick to trim calories

-

Sticking to your diet could be as simple as turning up the lights, suggest investigators reporting in the Journal of Marketing Research.

In a survey of 160 restaurant patrons, those dining in brightly lit rooms were up to 24 percent more likely to choose nutritious menu items like vegetables, salads and grilled fish compared with those who ordered their meals in darker rooms. Plus, sales records revealed that those eating in well-lit spaces ordered meals containing 39 percent fewer calories. The study authors say bright lighting may keep your brain attentive, so you’re more likely to make mindful food choices.
