WHAT’S NEW

Designers are celebrating spring’s arrival by presenting eye-catching medleys of seasonal flowers and greenery. “Here, classic soft-petaled blooms in pink and white get a modern update when encircled with chic loops of greenery,” says floral expert Sharon McGukin. “And the loops add dimension and interest to the display. It’s the perfect way to bring the beauty and liveliness of spring to your tabletop!”

GET THE LOOK

Fill a 6" vase with soaked floral foam. Cut 6 white lilies and 6 fuchsia roses to 8 to 10 inches. Then cut two handfuls of filler flowers (like baby’s breath and purple limonium) to lengths between 8 and 10 inches. Insert the lilies and roses into the foam, forming a soft mound. Fill in gaps with the filler flowers, then snip twelve 14" strands of bear grass and insert both ends of the blades into the foam, forming loops.

INSIDER’S SECRET

Most of us pour water only into the sides of arrangements, causing the flowers in the middle of the bouquet to dry out. But floral experts suggest pouring 1 cup of water into the center of the arrangement daily (or every other day depending on whether foam is dry or not). This allows water to disperse evenly throughout the foam, extending the life of the bouquet.
