You know an afternoon nap takes the edge off and gives you the energy to power through the rest of your day, but researcher­s in the journal

General Psychiatry say it has even more benefits. They surveyed more than 2,200 people age 60 and over and found that those who regularly napped scored significan­tly higher than nonnappers in tests of working memory, attention span and problem-solving. The study authors speculate that naps may lower brain inflammati­on to promote mental fitness.
