You know an afternoon nap takes the edge off and gives you the energy to power through the rest of your day, but researchers in the journal
General Psychiatry say it has even more benefits. They surveyed more than 2,200 people age 60 and over and found that those who regularly napped scored significantly higher than nonnappers in tests of working memory, attention span and problem-solving. The study authors speculate that naps may lower brain inflammation to promote mental fitness.
