Sunburn ouch

A refreshing way to reverse summer skin agers? Whip up a nourishing facial mist, store in the fridge, then spritz the chilled liquid onto your face for rejuvenating aah in an instant

To reduce redness

Whether from rosacea, heat rash or sunburn, summer’s elements can leave the complexion looking more ruddy than radiant. Coconut water to the rescue! The fruit’s water is packed with proteins called cytokines that reduce redness and irritation on contact. Plus, coconut’s antioxidants promote new, healthy cell growth to speed healing and prevent future inflammation. To make: Add 1⁄ cup

2 of pure coconut water into a small spray bottle.

To beat blemishes

The constant application of sunscreen combined with excess oil production brought on by heat and humidity can cause our skin to break out more.

The fix: a witch hazel and lime juice mix. Astringent witch hazel shrinks pores to cut down on oil production, while lime is rich in antimicrobial properties that kill acnecausing bacteria. To make: Combine 1⁄ cup

2 of witch hazel and 2 Tbs. of lime juice in a spray bottle.

To smooth fine lines

Drying UV rays can sap moisture from our skin, making wrinkles even more prominent. To smooth them out stat, grab a cucumber. Its ultrahigh water content rehydrates skin to help “plump” the look of lines, while its silica content improves elasticity to keep skin looking young and supple.

To make: In a blender, puree half of an unpeeled cucumber and 2 Tbs. of water. Pour the liquid through a strainer into a small spray bottle.
