Bring on bliss with a sweetly scented fruity floral bouquet

WHAT’S NEW

Right now, florists are styling fresh-picked blooms and seasonal fruit into heartwarming welcome wreaths that are sure to charm! “Here, fluffy, fragrant fuchsia roses and smooth red cherries combine for an eye-catching heart-shaped display that evokes joy,” says floral designer Sara Ralph-King, owner of Fresh Florals in Fort Mill, South Carolina. “It’s a sweet way to add inviting flair to any corner!”

GET THE LOOK

Start by bending a wire coat hanger into a heart shape. Next, snip stems of 24 garden roses (in light pink to fuchsia hues) to 2" to 3". Use snips of floral wire to attach roses to wire heart until mostly covered. Gather a few stems of cherries and fresh mint (its scent will deter pests) and tuck between blooms, using snips of floral wire to secure. To finish, rest the wreath on a bench or tabletop or hang using ribbon.

INSIDER’S SECRET

Fresh-cut garden roses start out lively and vibrant, but after exposure to heat, humidity and sun, they can wilt and droop. To keep your wreath looking its best, King suggests filling a spray bottle with water and misting blooms often— especially if you’re displaying the circlet outdoors. Also smart: Boost the mint’s pest-repelling power by gently rubbing the leaves to release its oils and aroma.
