Seafood just twice weekly reduces heart attacks
Tuna tacos on Tuesday and salmon on a Sunday bagel do wonders for the heart, say researchers publishing in JAMA Internal Medicine. Their analysis of past research, which included nearly 192,000 participants, found that just two weekly servings of oily fish like tuna and salmon provided enough healthy omega-3 fatty acids to notably reduce heart attack risk in folks with or at high risk for heart disease. Omega-3 fats reduce blood clotting and normalize heart rhythm, which can lower heart attack risk.
