Early breakfast steadies insulin
Researchers at Northwestern University found that people who enjoyed breakfast before 8:30 AM had significantly lower blood sugar and less insulin resistance than those who ate their first meal later in the day. What’s more, their analysis of more than 10,000 study participants revealed that, contrary to past research, participants were able to maintain steady blood sugar all day without practicing intermittent fasting or otherwise restricting the time of day they ate. Previous studies have found that blood sugar naturally spikes in the morning, but eating first thing and continuing to eat throughout the day can keep insulin release steady all day.
