For healthier blooms: A pop-up flower bag

-

“I love planting flowers in grow bags,” says Espiritu. “It’s fantastic to be able to set up a pop-up flower bed in any part of my yard where I want to attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other flying creatures.” For a nectar-rich flowering duo that will attract beautiful butterflies, remove black-eyed Susan and false sunflower plants from their plastic pots and nestle into tall round grow bags filled with soil. If the grow bag is too tall for your false sunflowers, which are lower-growing than black-eyed Susans, simply roll down the top edge of the bag, as shown. “Rolling the edges of the bag also gives the lower leaves and flowers more access to sun so they grow healthier and more vigorously,” notes Espiritu. Give full sun and water regularly.
