Abir Mukherjee

HNL Lab Medicine, a regional leader in high quality, innovative laboratory medicine services, announces the appointment of Abir Mukherjee as a new pathologist with the company. Mukherjee is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with a subspecialty board certification in neuropathology.

After graduating from Calcutta Medical College, Mukherjee started his career teaching medical students and practicing pathology in Pokhara, Nepal. His interest in research brought him to the Cleveland Clinic where he was a research fellow for three years.

After his residency in Michigan, Mukherjee completed a fellowship in neuropathology at The Methodist Hospital/MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in 2010. He then practiced neuropathology and general surgical pathology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia from 2010-2018.

Mukherjee comes to HNL Lab Medicine from Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan. He has been the section chief of neuropathology since 2018.
