How has your style changed since moving to Bangalow?

I’m originally from Bondi, Sydney, but my mother’s family were born in Kyogle — an hour inland from Byron Bay. I’d spend most holidays there with Nan and Pop so the move to Bangalow (also inland from Byron) felt natural. I’ve always had a casual style, opting for jeans and shirts with the occasional gyspy dress thrown in on my feminine ‘dress up’ days. On occasion you’ll find me sporting a little bling just to keep me on my fashion toes. I like to be comfortable but still relevant, so every season I’ll invest in pieces to keep me up to date with what’s happening out in the ‘real world’!

Do you dress differently for home and work?

If I’m in the city for meetings I’ll always dress up. If I’m working around the farm, it’s runners or Hunter boots and leggings. My fashion needs to reflect my mood, and that can go from laid-back casual to notice-me evening wear. What are your go-to fashion brands? Auguste The Label, Zimmermann, Spell and The Gypsy Collective, Driftlab, Mister Zimi and The Upside, just to name a few. They all embody a classic look that suits my age and stage without sacrificing fashion relevance. Favourite accessory? My leather and gem cuffs from Buffalo Girl. They have secret messages on the inside which is a thoughtful addition.

What about cosmetics, any products you love?

I use rosehip oil morning and evening, nothing hyrdrates my skin as well. I also love the range of body oils from Beach Road Naturals. Pure heaven. My favourite scent is Gardenia Passion by Annick Goutal. Romantic and classic.

What are your tricks for feeling put together in an instant?

Tinted moisturiser with an SPF — Bobbi Brown is a favourite, it’s great for evening out the skin tone. Bronzers from Becca give you an instant glow. What’s on your wardrobe wish list? A whimsical dress from Zimmermann. I like the beautiful old-world shapes and fabrics. What book or artwork are loving right now? A Book Of Dreams by Peter Reich — it inspired the Kate Bush song, Cloudbusting. My art love is local Bangalow artist Hilary Herrmann. What’s your fashion advice to live by? Keeping it timeless and classic is my mantra. > For more information about Shannon, visit shannonfricke.com
