Fiji Airways has applied by way of a motion to consolidat­e the employment grievances and to stay all of them until certain preliminar­y issues are resolved. The preliminar­y issues revolve around whether the employees had followed proper procedures at the time they had lodged their employment grievances with the Mediation Services. The tribunal, after listening to both parties, has adjourned the matter to November 23, 2020, for mention when directions will be given relating to the preliminar­y issues. It is hoped that by November 23, all of the grievances that are currently with the Mediation Services will be processed and referred to the Employment Relations Tribunal. No other Orders were made by the tribunal. SUVA T welve former Fiji Airways flight attendants, who were terminated in May this year, have filed employment grievances. The matter was called at the Employment Relations Tribunal in Nadi yesterday. The tribunal dealt with the first batch of employment grievances.
