Big is Beautiful

This giant pilot watch from IWC is meant to do one thing, and it does it extremely well: Leave a lasting first impression. It has everything that made the original vintage design from the 1940s such a hit, from the legibility to a crown that’s easily operated even when one is wearing gloves. Additions like a pair of rivets on the thick calfskin strap and the triangle with two dots at 12 o’clock are the icing on the cake, although they actually play an important role for a real pilot. It is not for everyone, obviously; but since this is the largest pilot watch from the Schaffhausenbased house today and is limited to 100 units, it is a definite IWC collector’s piece.
