Panerai is perhaps the most conservative watchmaker today, with dials and cases that don’t change much year after year. Thankfully, they traded their customarily chunky and large case with something much more wearable: the Panerai due (pronounced “due-ey”), which comes in two sizes, 42mm and 45mm. Where this watch really shines, though, is its thickness and new movement. This iconic Luminor is 40 percent thinner (and hence much lighter) than its predecessor, and the in-house automatic movement looks absolutely beautiful through the caseback, particularly in the skeletonized construction of the red gold version.
