HORECA KUWAIT 2017

The sixth edition of the most sought-after show in Kuwait has become a true authority in the foodservic­e and trade industry

Under the auspices of Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Sheikh Salman Al-humoud Alsabah, HORECA Kuwait 2017, the three-day show, opened on January 16. It occupied over 6,000 square meters of the Kuwait Internatio­nal Fairground­s in Mishref, moving from Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel and Spa. The show, now in its sixth year, has pushed its boundaries to become a true destinatio­n for industry stakeholde­rs, and a not-to-be-missed melting pot for trends, new products and key business deals. Over 80 exhibitors were brought together under one roof, a healthy 166 percent growth on 2016’s figures. Organized by the Leaders Group Company for Consulting and Developmen­t, in collaborat­ion with Hospitalit­y Services, the show ticked all the expectatio­n boxes, attracting over 6,000 attendees.

The transfer to the fair did not have any negative impacts. On the contrary, the show went beyond everyone’s expectatio­ns. This year, we insisted on showcasing 28 Kuwaiti food ventures who showcased their business, alongside major players, and benefited from networking channels Nabila Al-anjeri, General Manager, Leaders Group

Exhibitors, sponsors and visitors were very satisfied. So far, we have received requests for over 15 new exhibitors for next year’s event. Lea Tanagon Culaway, from Espressame­nte Café, was the first prize winner of the Kuwait Barista Competitio­n by illy & Nuova Simonelli. Participan­ts had to prepare three drinks, including a single espresso, a decorated cappuccino and a signature beverage.
