Al Ajami, Al Far­dos, Al Hal­abi, Al Sul­tan Brahim, Burj Al Ha­mam Casino Arabi, Casino Mhanna, Chez Sami, Kasr Fakhred­dine, Le Pheni­cien, Mounir and Shater Has­san were hon­ored as am­bas­sadors of Le­banese cui­sine dur­ing the open­ing cer­e­mony of HORECA on April 4. The ini­tia­tive was over­seen by Hos­pi­tal­ity Ser­vices and the Syn­di­cate of Own­ers of Res­tau­rants, Cafes, Night­clubs & Pas­tries in Le­banon (RCNP). The award rec­og­nized the ef­forts and the com­mit­ment the res­tau­rants had shown to tak­ing Le­banese cui­sine around the world, which has helped at­tract huge num­bers of tourists to the coun­try and raised the pro­file of the food tourism seg­ment. Four cri­te­ria were used in the de­ci­sion­mak­ing, in­clud­ing the longevity of the res­tau­rant (out­lets should have been in op­er­a­tion for over 30 years), the su­pe­rior qual­ity and ser­vice they of­fered and mem­ber­ship of the Syn­di­cate of RCNP. The res­tau­rant should also have gained con­sent from the Syn­di­cate’s board, Hos­pi­tal­ity Ser­vices and the Min­istry of Tourism.
