Create a kitchen pharmacy with homegrown herbs
Potted herbs on a kitchen windowsill provide easy access to homegrown medicines. They often don’t last long – herbs, after all, did not evolve to grow indoors. Instead, dry your herbs in the peak of the season and store them in an apothecary chest. For added freshness, store them in small airtight containers that fit inside the drawers. Make sure you insert labels in each drawer handle to identify the herbs and the dates harvested.
