Select your herbs for their unique healing properties
Each herb has its own unique constituents, so bear this in mind when making your creams. For example, calendula, rosehip and hemp are ideal for cosmetic creams. Rosehip is good for reducing scarring, calendula has Uv-blocking attributes and hemp is rich in vitamins and other nutrients. Castor is very glossy and often used in lip salves. It’s also highly occlusive for wetness, so castor oil and zinc are frequently used in diaper rash ointments. Chickweed is good for itchy skin, calendula is anti-inflammatory and antifungal, manuka and kanuka can be used for fungal infections. Gotu kola is good for scars, wounds, and after surgery. Red clover is good for chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
