The sweet aroma of this per­fume is use­ful for eas­ing stress and anx­i­ety.

In­gre­di­ents • fresh or dried scented rose petals • fresh or dried chamomile flow­ers • fresh or dried laven­der flow­ers • high-proof vodka

Place flow­ers in a glass jar and cover with vodka. Screw on the lid and leave for four to six weeks, shak­ing the jar daily. Strain and pour the per­fume into an atom­iser or glass bot­tle with a mis­ter top.

Florida water

This 19th-cen­tury for­mula is also known as cologne water.

In­gre­di­ents • 1 cup scented rose petals • 1 cup aro­matic greens like basil, mint, lemon balm, lemon ver­bena, etc • 2 ta­ble­spoons whole cloves • 2 ta­ble­spoons co­rian­der seeds, crushed • 2 cin­na­mon sticks • 2 cups vodka • es­sen­tial oils

Com­bine all in­gre­di­ents, ex­cept the es­sen­tial oils, in a lid­ded jar and leave for 4-6 weeks, shak­ing the jar daily. Strain out the plant ma­te­rial, add your choice of es­sen­tial oils (like jas­mine, laven­der or lemon) then pour into a dark bot­tle.
