I’VE BEEN PUTTING o© a hardcore eco run for months on account of generally being in a hurry, but this week brought together the perfect storm of half-term traªic absence, sympathetic early summer temperatures and an appreciable lack of cash. For 126.8 miles I never exceed 65mph or half throttle and duked it out in lane one, frequently the illing in an 88-tonne sandwich, and kept the air-con o©. The result? An indicated 93.9mpg. Theoretically that gives the Prius a range of 888.3 miles, but only if you never stop.
