EDIT THE SHOT

-

1

RETOUCH YOUR BACKGROUND AND PORTRAIT

Edit your background in Adobe Lightroom, and using the Develop module you can set the mood of the scene. Once you are happy with the result synch your retouch onto your portrait so that you set the same atmosphere.

2

EXTRACT YOUR MODEL

With Adobe Photoshop you can extract your model using the Quick Selection tool and Refine Edge. You can also zoom in and do a precise selection by hand.

3

BLEND THE TWO LAYERS

Next, make sure that both layers are perfectly aligned, and then using a brush you can mix both layers in Photoshop. Brush back any details that are hard to extract, like the feet in this example.

4

FINAL RETOUCHING

You can now re-edit your photo with the model using some dodge and burn, by cropping your image or with some vignetting, and remove any distracting elements like the street signs.
