USE ADMINISTRATION SOFTWARE

Employ Light Blue, the organisational package for photographers, to stay on top of your workload

-

1 CREATE NEW SHOOT RECORDS Light Blue organises bookings into records called shoots. to create a new record when a potential client shows interest in using your services, click new shoot in the task panel. the default status is ‘enquiry’ which can be later changed to a confirmed assignment.

2 INPUT CUSTOMER INFORMATION Light Blue provides fields that you can populate with essential client data. name your shoot, choose a shoot type and add a date. the software will alert you if the new date clashes with either an enquiry (denoted by orange) or a confirmed photoshoot (red).

3 IMPORT OR BUILD WORKFLOWS usefully, Light Blue provides pre-designed task schedules, known as Workflows, for each shoot type. While these can be amended to fit your usual work format, the default task lists are a good template to work from, to ensure your job is conducted smoothly.

4 ENTER CLIENT REQUESTS A professional studio will see many customers, with a plethora of special image requirements. enter these in the field provided to remind you what your job will entail, enabling you to plan ahead. once a shoot has been completed, images can be linked for later reference.

5 RUN REPORTS the added benefit of the Light Blue software is that it allows close monitoring of your expenses and profits. By linking records within the application, when you add payments made to you or any new costs, you will helpfully be able to see how profitable a particular shoot has been.

6 MONITOR ACTIVITIES Light Blue uses a traffic light system, highlighting where scheduled tasks are upcoming, overdue or done. you can customise the spacing between tasks by altering the due date in the Workflows panel. once a task has been completed it will move to the history.
