Taste the Difference Limoux Chardonnay 2013 France (13.5%, Sainsbury’s, £8) In the foothills of the Pyrenees, Limoux must be one of the most under-rated chardonnay-producing regions in the world. Gorgeous, with zesty lemon.

Tupungato Chardonnay 2014 Argentina (14%, M&S, £9) Made for M&S by Catena Zapata, this is a good, solid chardonnay. Watch out for it on offer.

Tesco Simply Chianti 2014 Italy (13% Tesco, £4.89) One of those reds that tastes twice as expensive when you’re eating food with it. Go for the cornichons option with this.

The Society’s Chianti Rufina 2013 Italy (12.5%, The Wine Society, £7.50) A light, clean Chianti that’s very easy to drink.
