I might stay as 007, hints Craig the peroxide Bond

It’ll have to be a remake of Live And Let Dye, Daniel!

HE ONCE said he would rather ‘slash his wrists’ than do another Bond film. But in a move that will delight fans, Daniel Craig appears to be changing his mind.

Speaking in New York, the actor, left, said: ‘I got the best job in the world doing Bond. The things I get to do on a Bond movie, there’s no other job like it.

‘If I were to stop doing it I’d miss it terribly. I love this job. I get a massive kick out of it. And, if I can keep getting a kick out of it, I will.’

Craig unveiled a new look for his interview at the New Yorker festival, sporting a bleached blond hairstyle for his role in forthcoming heist comedy Logan Lucky.

He has reportedly been offered as much as £120million to play Bond for a fifth time, a figure he denied.

But he said talks about the 25th Bond film are currently on hold ‘because everybody’s just a bit tired’ – or working on other projects.

His comments about slashing his wrists came in December, after a long press tour to promote the last Bond adventure Spectre, which co-starred Lea Seydoux, pictured with Craig, right.

But the actor, 48, spoke warmly about the franchise yesterday. ‘A Bond movie is by the skin of your teeth. You get it [shot] and six months later it’s released,’ he said of the tight production schedule. ‘There’s no time for focus groups. You make the movie and you put it out. It’s one of the most thrilling things as an actor you can do. It’s the way Barbara [Broccoli, the producer] likes to shoot.’

Last week Craig’s co-star Naomie Harris, who plays Moneypenny, said: ‘He’s an extraordinary actor and I think he’s the best modern Bond that we have had and I desperately want him back. Come back!’
