A pretty-in-pink bouquet to make their day!

WHAT’S NEW

This month, florists are styling fluffy fuchsia garden blooms in cool-hued vases to create beautiful bouquets that pop. “Here, delicate gaura, garden roses and phlox in a range of pinks mingle for a lovely yet laid-back summer look,” says floral designer Gabriele DeFrances. “And the cool-blue vase nicely contrasts with the plush rosy-colored blossoms. It’s the perfect display for a patio party or girls’ get-together!”

GET THE LOOK

Fill a 5"-tall blue vase with water. Snip six pink garden roses and six stems of phlox to 6"–8". Arrange phlox stems in the vase first, forming a rounded mound. Then insert roses between phlox clusters. Next, snip six gaura stems to 12" and tuck them in throughout to fill in any gaps and add interest. For extra flair, center the bouquet on a tray between two water-filled cups of seasonal blooms.

INSIDER’S SECRET

In this mixed garden bouquet, the roses may be the first blooms to fade. To perk up droopy flowers, try this easy pro-approved trick: Fill a sink with warm water, then re-snip each wilted stem while holding it underwater (to prevent water-blocking air bubbles from forming). Next, submerge the blooms (including stems and foliage) in water for 10 minutes and voilà—fully revived roses!

When you get a peek, for instance, at the gorgeous pictures we shot of DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) with her husband and their sons, her stories about the rambunctious boys come to vivid life. “They are both getting to the age where they won’t necessarily kick a ball back and forth, but they do chase each other,” she told us. “And I’ll see them giggling and wonder what they’re up to. It’s really cute.”
