Move over, ordinary float! My father would have been immensely pleased if I could have served him your ginger beer float (TASTE September 2019, p 42). Home-made ginger beer is the drink that conjures up days gone by when harvest was the time when family members and neighbours went into the wheat fields to lend a helping hand. I am old enough to remember the party atmosphere – ginger beer was great during the warm weather to quench the thirst and a norm in most households during my childhood. Thank you for bringing back those magnificent memories.
