The latest dessert to get the TikTok treatment? Crème brûlée. To make it, mix half a cup of ice cream and one egg yolk, then pour into a ramekin and cook in a water bath for 40–50 minutes at 160°C. Add a sprinkle of sugar and reach for the blowtorch. Sound too good to be true? We put it to the test and discovered that while it is not a real crème brûlée, it does produce a pleasant baked custard. Ice cream, however, contains a lot more sugar than a crème brûlée, so be warned: it is sweet. However, if you’re in dire need of an emergency three-ingredient pudding, this might not be a problem!
