One problem that threatens to dog EV drivers is road noise, something that becomes more prominent the quieter the cabin gets. Noise can potentially become worse still with the lightweight tyres developed especially for electric vehicles. Sumito Rubber Group (which includes brands such as Falken Tyre Europe) has produced its first replacement EV tyres in China incorporating its Silent Core foam technology, which dampens noise vibration. Falken will launch the similar E.ZIEX in Europe in 2023.
