Porsche 918 Spyder 9150rpm

V8s aren’t always associated with high revs, but Porsche gave the 918 Spyder one with a relatively small capacity of 4.6 litres, helping the pistons rise and fall more quickly. Peak output of 600bhp arrives at 8600rpm, but keep the throttle pedal pinned and it runs right up to 9150rpm. It might not rev quite as high as the Laferrari or have as much power, then, but it can sprint from 0-62mph quicker, taking only 2.8sec.
